Just blogged about Bis, then remembered Elastica's shouty phase. This is amazing:

Lauren Laverne tweeted about Bis, and how she named her brilliant novel after Bis's best song. Then, the same night, Manda Rin was in the line up on Buzzcocks! It was a rerun of the episode in Simon Amstell's last series, where Russell Brand was guest team captain, that the BBC was too afraid to show in the immediate aftermath of Sachsgate. I remember being pretty cross about it at the time - and it's a really funny episode! Amstell and Brand worked surprisingly well off each other.
Anyway, they showed a little clip of Bis doing Kandy Pop on TOTP, which reminded me what a great song it was and how brilliant they were in an kind of Helen Love, Shampoo, shouty noise explosion. The TOTP rips on YouTube are pretty poor, though, but this is a good quality live version from Japan...
